From 31 August to 8 September 2026, 28 young people from Latvia, Lithuania and Türkiye gathered in the Limbaži region of Latvia for the Erasmus+ youth exchange Through the Lens.

Organised by the Latvian association Studija Cita Perspektīva together with partner organisations from Lithuania and Türkiye, the project explored how filmmaking, social media and digital storytelling can be used for more than entertainment. They can raise awareness, bring overlooked experiences into view and encourage young people to take a more active role in their communities.

Over seven intensive activity days, participants learned how media messages are constructed, how to question the information they encounter online and how to create stories of their own. The exchange asked a simple but important question: can the same digital tools that occupy so much of young people’s attention also help them become more active citizens?
