GEORGIA 2025

For 10 days, our team of six Lithuanians traveled across Georgia, focusing on the regions near the borders of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. These are areas that carry a heavy history, and we wanted to see them with our own eyes, to better understand the stories that shape this part of the world.

What we found was a mix of contrasts. On one hand, there is the visible presence of borders, fences, and the reminder of ongoing occupation. On the other, there's incredible nature, mountains, valleys, and villages that took our breath away. Walking through these landscapes, it was hard not to feel both the beauty of the land and the weight of its history at the same time.

Along the way, we met many local people. Their kindness and openness made a deep impression on us. Even in places marked by tension, they welcomed us warmly, shared their thoughts, and talked about their everyday lives. We learned about their challenges, but also about their resilience and love for their homeland. These conversations reminded us how important it is to listen, to document, and to share their voices with others.

This trip was not only about travel - it was the beginning of our new project. We are now working on a documentary that will bring together the landscapes we saw and, more importantly, the stories we heard. Our goal is to show both the beauty of Georgia and the struggles its people face, and to share these realities beyond its borders.

This journey has left a strong mark on us as filmmakers and as people. Georgia is a country of resilience, courage, and deep cultural roots. We are grateful for the time we spent there, and we are determined to reflect it truthfully in our upcoming work.
